“Education is important in my life and the lives of my daughters. Three of my daughters completed or are in the process of attaining their graduate degrees. I returned to school and proudly earned my graduate degree in December 2022.
When I relocated to the Adirondacks in the summer of 2022, I was eager to find ways to support others in achieving their academic dreams and career aspirations. Upon discovering WCSC, I knew it was a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact. I am privileged to work alongside such an inspiring group of individuals dedicated to empowering dreams and unlocking potential!"

"Having moved to Saranac Lake from Lake Placid in 2016, I was looking for an organization to join. Jean Stone, a member of WCSC and a friend, suggested attending a meeting with her.
What I found was a group of friendly and welcoming women. I immediately joined the group because of those attributes and their wonderful mission of raising money for scholarships for local students!
We're a group of socially aware and hard working women who know how to get the job done while having fun. I've been Corresponding Secretary since 2018 and love this organization."

"Soon after moving from Brooklyn, N.Y. to Saranac Lake, my sister Ginny Bartlett, took me to the Fall Pot Luck dinner and meeting of the WCSC. Impressed by their mission to provide scholarships to students in the Saranac Lake area and by the friendliness of the members, I decided to join. The Recording Secretary position was empty and they needed a replacement.
I volunteered and have been in this position since 2020. Not only does WCSC give voice to their mission, but the membership as a whole supports the work, managing, even through Covid-19, to provide scholarships to our students. I am very proud to be a member of WCSC."

Treasurer, Kathy Root
"I have lived in the Adirondacks 1979-1981 and moved back when I retired. They say I have "blue line syndrome" because I'm sad when I travel outside the Blue Line. I love WCSC because our goals are focused: make money, give local scholarships, have fun."

”We move to Saranac Lake in 1986. I stayed home and cared for my four children and many others until my youngest started school. I then worked at the Saranac Lake Free Library until 2020. I am honored to be a member of WCSC and the SLVFD.
